I cannot but admire the simple and lucid style in which Lord Jesus Christ is presented by Fr .Boby Jose. His discourses are quite illuminating and present Jesus Christ as a man and as a teacher par excellence- a true Guru in the Hindu-Zen Buddhist mould. But is Lord Jesus a teacher only? He was a teacher to his desciples when He was in this world. But when Jesus was resurrected from the dead Thomas acknowledges him as “My Lord and my God” John 20:28. In Mathew 10:33 Jesus tells us “But if anyone rejects me publicly, I will reject him before my Father in heaven.” Rejecting Jesus means rejecting him as Lord and God. He is to be accepted as Lord and God and not as a mere Guru. “ But have reverence for Christ in your hearts and honour him as Lord.” (1 Peter 3:15). Therefore it is clear from the Bible which is the Word of the Lord that Jesus is to be publicly accepted as Lord and God. Jesus says “I testify on my behalf and the Father who send me also testifies on my behalf. Where is your father they asked him. You know neither me nor my Father, Jesus answered. If you know me, you would know my Father also.” (John 8:18-20) If only we know, accept and proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and God we will be his desciples and Christians. Otherwise we will never have communion with him or God the father.
